The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is an independent innovation and technology organisation committed to the advancement of the cell and gene therapy industry.

Our purpose is to help and support companies to develop and deliver transformative medicines to the world. We do this by creating a pathway to accelerate breakthrough research in advanced therapies to commercialisation and scale.

We address the critical drivers required for the ATMP sector to progress, supporting:

  • National apprenticeship programme for early-career talent and workforce reskilling.
  • Employer support for apprenticeship recruitment, onboarding, and training.
  • Industry Skills Accelerator sees collaboration with CPI and Cogent Skills to expand ATAC into new pathways and medicine modalities.
Skills and Training Laboratories
  • Hands-on training in state-of-the-art facilities covering fundamental laboratory and aseptic skills, upstream and downstream bioprocessing, quality control and digitalisation.
  • Workforce development for CGT Catapult partners, the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst community and wider bioprocessing industry.
